In 2020, the Malta International Challenge Marathon will be celebrating its 30th edition. Organising Club Birkirkara St. Joseph proudly unveiled a special logo which will be slowly rolled out and featured on all event communication, merchandise and finishers’ medals.
The Eurosport Malta International Challenge Marathon, or the ‘Challenge’ as it is affectionately referred to, is a unique event that has seen an increased interest in the past few years. It consists of a full marathon spread over three days, starting with a 10 mile (16.094km) segment in Si??iewi. It is followed by a short 5km race in Marsascala – just the right distance giving a breather prior to the hilly and technical half marathon on Sunday which takes athletes to some of the most scenic seaview and country lanes in the north eastern part of the island.
For those wishing to be part of this exciting event but do not feel prepared to run the full distance, the Gatorade Team Relay Challenge is a great opportunity – not just to be part of the Challenge but also for some team work – this Challenge has seen an increase in corporate team participation who see the benefits of such events.
International participation has also seen growth with athletes travelling from all over Europe.
The Eurosport Malta International Challenge Marathon is an AIMS certified event and is held under the auspices of the Malta Amateur Athletic Association.
The 30th Eurosport Malta International Challenge Marathon will take place on the 27th, 28th and 29th November 2020. Registrations are now open - http://www.maltachallengemarathon.com/#registrations
